CHEMICAL PEELING TREATMENT

Ageing is a natural process that develops wrinkles, fine lines, dullness, and damaged skin. Excessive sun exposure can lead to the early signs of aging. So, what can you do to get back your smooth, rejuvenated skin? We have a solution that will help you improve the condition of your skin through a treatment called “Chemical Peeling Treatment” which you can get only at eEpiderma Cosmetology & Laser Clinic.

What Do Chemical Peeling Treatments Mean?

A chemical peel is a solution that is applied into the epidermal layer (top layer) of the skin to remove the damaged layer and produce healthy skin. It is divided into three types: light chemical peel, medium chemical peel, and deep chemical peel, which we will discuss next.
Three Types of Chemical Peel:
Chemical peels are divided into three types so that a proper treatment is given to you according to the condition of your skin and will penetrate into your skin accordingly.

1. Light Chemical Peel:

This peel is applied into the outer layer of the skin to remove skin problems like wrinkles and fine lines as well as improve the skin’s tone.

2. Medium Chemical Peel:

This peel is used to remove damaged skin cells from the upper as well as the middle layer of the skin. It helps to treat acne-scars, and improves uneven skin tone.

3. Deep Chemical Peel:

This peel is applied to remove the damaged skin from the inside. This is mainly used to treat deep wrinkles and scars.

What is the procedure for a chemical peel?

Before the treatment, a patient is advised to tie their hair up so that the procedure will be done without any disturbance, their face will be washed, and eye protection will be given. A local anesthesia cream will be applied to you in order to reduce any discomfort during the procedure. Now, let’s discuss the procedure of each peel individually:

Light chemical peel

A light chemical peel is applied using a brush that applies a chemical solution consisting of salicylic acid. You will notice a bright look on your face. At the end, a neutralizing solution will be given so that the effect of chemical peeling will be removed as well as to avoid scarring.

Medium chemical peel

To apply this peel, an applicator with a cotton ball attached is used to do the procedure. This peel consists of glycolic acid. After some time, your skin will look brighter, but you might feel a slight pain or burning sensation for 20 minutes. There is no need for neutralization here; instead, hand fanning is done to cool down your skin.

Deep chemical peel

This peel is an intense process, which is why your skin will be numbed beforehand. This peel consists of phenol, which helps to lighten your skin and remove tan. The peel that is applied will turn gray over time. This procedure is done within 15 minutes to avoid any damage to the skin.

Is the procedure safe?

The chemical peeling treatment includes some side effects, including:
1. Redness and swelling are common after the treatment, but this is temporary.
2. Sometimes scarring may occur.
3. After the treatment, it is possible that your skin might get darker or lighter than usual.
4. Fungal infections are common after the treatment.
5. Heart or kidney damage can occur because of the use of phenol in deep chemical peels, which is why it is done for a short period of time.

Is this treatment suitable for everyone?

You are not suitable to do the Chemical Peeling Treatment if you have these conditions:
1. If you are pregnant,
2. If you are on certain medications,
3. People with dark complexions can get pigmentation.

Are the results permanent?

The results depend on the type of peel you are getting.
If you are getting a light peel treatment, the results might last for approximately 6 months. Whereas, results with medium peel are not longer than 2 to 3 months. Deep chemical peels are permanent, as they are done only for serious skin issues.

How many sessions are needed?

To see a long-lasting result, you need to do at least 5–6 sessions.

What aftercare is needed?

After the chemical peeling treatment, you need to maintain your skin by following these conditions:
1. Avoid doing work that puts pressure on your skin.
2. It is important to moisturize and hydrate your skin.
3. It is recommended to use face wash, sunscreen, and night cream as per the advice of the doctor.

Therefore, chemical peeling is a great option to choose to give your skin a youthful look and get rid of wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars, as well as give you an even skin tone.
